CAPSU Burias Holds Earthquake and Fire Drill Orientation

Capiz State University Burias Campus, in cooperation with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and the Bureau of Fire Protection Officers of the Municipality of Mambusao, conducted an earthquake and fire drill orientation on October 6, 2015 in front of the administration building.

The said event started at 8:30 in the morning with Dr. Loduvico C. Olmo Jr., administrator of the campus, giving his welcome remarks.  He emphasized the importance of the said activity for the safety and well-being of the community.

The Bureau of Fire Protection Officers of the Municipality of Mambusao discussed the different categories of fire and gave emphasis on how fire can destroy property in a matter of minutes.

Mr. Esperedeon Pelaez, the director of the PDRRMC of Capiz

Mr. Esperedeon Pelaez, director of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council of Capiz, further discussed the activities to be conducted in the upcoming month and even year in preparation for unwanted calamities and disasters.  He also mentioned that a team of evaluators will be coming over to assess how CapSU Burias responds to earthquake in an earthquake drill.

CAPSU Burias Celebrates World Teacher’s Day

The Supreme Student Council (SSC) honored their professors at CapSU Burias by conducting a day event on October 5, 2015 at the Park in front of the Administration Building.  

A zumba dance exercise started the affair followed by the cutting of ribbons of every booth prepared by the students for their teachers. 

Some teachers enjoyed singing in the videoke, while others were busy visiting the different booths - the cupcake booth, art booth, freedom wall booth, t-shirt printing booth, healthy food booth and photo booth.

The faculty display the fruits of their labor upon the conclusion of the celebration.

In the afternoon, the teachers played some games like Pinoy Henyo, Rip Off, Fill in the Lyrics and the Mash It Up.  Prizes were awarded to the different winners. 

The students from the different departments also prepared tributes for the teachers in the form of videos, songs and dances.
