Silaw Celebrates Buwan ng Wika

Silaw, a group of Filipino majors from the College of Education, spearheaded the Linggo ng Wika program in the afternoon of August 23, 2015 held in front of the Administration Building.  The theme of the activity was “Filipino, Wika Para sa Pambansang Kaunlaran’’.
The Chair of the BSEd program, Prof. Rhodora Laguda, offered her words of welcome where she also discussed the history of the Filipino Language.  This was followed by students’ presentations on talumpati, sabayang pagbigkas, tula, awiting bayan, and interpretative dance that showed their ardent love for the national language.
Nikko Pama, the President of Silaw, hosted the Question and Answer portion where questions about the Filipino language were entertained.
Mr. Rogelio Flores receives a certificate of recognition for his outstanding contribution to the Filipino teaching profession.
           The program concluded with the speech of Prof. Sandy Zaragosa, a Filipino professor from the College of Education, who thanked all the teachers and students who attended the program. At the end of his speech, he encouraged the students to be more nationalistic and learn to love our country with passion.
